data.gov
data.gov is the central home for open data published by US federal agencies, with links out to state and local data too. Each listing describes the dataset and points you to the files or the API that serves it.
You will find data in CSV, JSON, and XML among other formats, covering everything from census figures and weather records to federal spending and environmental readings. Many datasets carry rich metadata that helps a retrieval system understand what each one holds.
Most US Government works are in the public domain, so you can reuse them freely, though a few third-party datasets carry their own terms. Check the licence on each dataset before you build it into a product.

The official word-for-word record of proceedings in the UK Parliament, both the Commons and the Lords. Full text searchable and available as XML and linked data going back centuries, it is a rich source of political and legislative debate for RAG systems.
